Take Action

Please take a look at the list below and choose one or more ways you can take action now:

Write your elected officials: The California High-Speed Rail Authority continues to tell our legislators there is little to no opposition to the Authority's high-speed rail project as currently planned. Please write your federal, state and local representatives! If you don't take the time to express yourself, they will never know where you stand on this very important issue. We have prepared sample letters, a list of additional points you might want to raise with your elected representatives and contact information for you to use.

  • Click here for a sample letter you can use in writing to your state representatives.
  • Click here for a sample letter you can use in writing to your city council or county board of supervisors.
  • Click here for additional points you might consider using in any of the above letters (or when you appear before your council or visit your representatives).
  • Click here for a list of representatives you might want to contact and their contact information.

Visit your elected officials: Take the time to get to know your representatives. Click here for tips for a successful meeting.

Write a letter to the editor: It's easy and important. Take time to inform the public. There is a lot of reference material on our website and you can use our list of additional points as you compose your letter. Click on the appropriate link below to compose an email:

Tell your friends: Many members of the community still have no idea what's really being planned. Call or send an email message to friends. Invite them to our website and to sign up for our email newsletter by adding their email addresses to the box on the left-hand side of this page.

Ask about our speaker's bureau: If you live in San Francisco or San Jose or anywhere in between, we will send a CC-HSR representative to your neighborhood association, homeowner's association, or professional organization with a PowerPoint presentation about the proposed California high-speed rail project and its potential impacts on the San Francisco Peninsula. Email: ellyn@cc-hsr.org for more information.

Volunteer your time and resources: Let us know if you have time to visit our state representatives or attend hearings in Sacramento. Also let us know if you have special resources or expertise you can share (e.g. printing, accounting, marketing, or public relations). We can always use your help! Please write us at volunteer@cc-hsr.org .

Make a donation: The California High-Speed Rail Authority has a NINE MILLION dollar budget for public relations. We may not ever have those kinds of resources but we can make a difference if we work together. Our all volunteer board manages legal and lobbying help through financial contributions from the community and we put those contributions to good use. See our list of accomplishments on the home page. Go to our donation page for instructions on donating.

Sponsor a fundraiser: If you are willing to get a group together for a fundraising event, which could be as simple as a few neighbors in your home, please contact kevyn@cc-hsr.org or julie@cc-hsr.org . Provided you are on the San Francisco Peninsula or in an area where we have a willing colleague, we will provide a guest speaker, along with handouts and pledge forms. All proceeds will go directly to CC-HSR for the purposes of lobbying, legal help, and community outreach.
